Tracking expenses during business trip
with Handy Finance for Palm

Hi Dmitry,

I downloaded your Handy Finance v1.0 Lite, international edition from palmblvd. I have to say that it is a real fine product you have developed there. Thank you. It has more features, flexibility than most of the other products I've seen. I like the complexity without making it complicated. However without the possibility to hotsync the records to my PC it would be pretty useless. So I was very happy to find the Handy Finance Desktop v0.1 on your website. I tried it and would like to give you my feedback, if it's of any help for you.

Here's what we use it for:

We are a family working with an international company in New York, reporting to Germany. We have very limited financial resources so we need to keep track of our expenses and accounts. We have decided to record each Cent spent on the expensive streets of New York City. A number of expenses can be reimbursed at our german office. So we need to make a report each month.

What I like about your program:

Handy Finance v1.0

• Total flexibility with accounts, categories and currencies.
• Easy to learn
• Easy to handle for day to day use.
• Great flexibility in setting up different views through drag and drop of columns.

Desktop v0.1

• Great concept for the desktop program (again good flexibility)
• I think it's right and positive: No changes in desktop program possible.
• stay open filter panel is good

These are the few things, that I suggest to be further developed or polished on your neat program:

Handy Finance v1.0

• sort function on the transaction screen (sometimes I find an old receipt in my wallet) (*released)
• keyboardfunction /k in notes
• beaming of single or multiple transactions to other handheld (*released)
• hotsync between two palmtops (i.e. per infrared) possible (that would be really (really) nice!) (*released)
• Use of color i.e. to highlight secified transactions (*released)

Desktop v0.1

• allow more than one handheld to independantly operate on the same accounts and hotsync the total transactions to all handhelds
• Export to Excel (*released)

Those are the first things, that popped up after using your product for one week. Keep me posted, as you develop further on. I'd like to help as tester, if you'd like me to.
